[the feed goes on to a... rather... odd-looking man smiling down at the camera: 'odd' mainly because of that blue hair-swoosh-thing going around his head like a halo of sorts. he might be familiar to a couple of faces here and there, if it weren't for his lack of usual glasses. new arrival? possibly, though he's looking significantly calmer than the average newbie. in fact, one could say that he almost looks... anxious? excited?
well, he's certainly not demanding to go home.]
I must say, this is quite the shock! I'm not entirely sure how my captors had managed to bring me here without my Pokémon's or my own knowing, along with surgically adding on these wings with no complications, so I must applaud them for doing so! It must have taken a rather powerful anesthesia for this to be feasible.
[so yeah, it doesn't look like he cares much about being abducted, since he's just rambling at this point. he holds the book high for a moment before bringing it close... very close. he squints his eyes.] This book is quite the technological anomaly, too. Apparently it functions as a form of communication... Very similar to a cross-transceiver I'm guessing. A bit bulky for my tastes, but quite fascinating-- it even has paper pages like a real book! I wonder how the inventor made this sort of thing feasible...!
[he finally draws the book away, though apparently his smile disappeared. he sighs.]
Although I wish they had left me with more than just my lab coat... I can hardly see properly without my glasses, much less perform a proper examination on these wings. [he's not paying attention to it, but if one can listen closely, they can hear something that's akin to an alien's chirping-- if they ever heard such a sound. by the way, he's back to smiling.] Well, I'm quite sure all of this is being broadcasted... so! If anyone happens to find a pair of blue-framed glasses, I would be very much appreciativuuUUWOAH!!
[a sudden brown blur distorts the image and then SPLOOSH!! the book goes flying out of his hand and snaps shut when it hits the ground.]
action;
[if you happened to be in town, you may have been witnessing one of three things happening: one is of said man stumbling around with a hand out in front of him, almost as though he'd run into a street post if he didn-- oh, just like that. two is very brief: a whoosh of something brown flies right past you, followed by a very shrill, very annoying, succession of chirps.
number three is what you see now: said brown blur rams right into said man's face and they both fall right into the Conveniently Placed fountain. whatever that brown blur was, it sure is happy to see him, though the man isn't quite as happy.]

[he's going to ignore that little woobat comment (even though it's true) because HOLY SHIT SHE HAS HIS GLASSES.]
video;
[ this is why it pays to be adventurous, bro. she's just gonna, you know, try these on now, seeing as she totally can. step two, complete. ]
Woah... blurry....
video;
[excuse me miss, but were he capable of, you know, seeing properly, then he'd be a bit more adventurous. he shakes his head though (slowly, because he can feel a headache coming on) to dismiss that explanation and gets to the matter at hand.]
May I have my glasses back now?
video;
the point is that she might not give them away so easily. she adjusts them (very much similar to the way that he does), looking like she's... contemplating. ]
...Maybe.
video;
[oh dear. if he's going to have to jump through several loops just to get his glasses back, then he may as well just buy another pair... even though those are his favorite pair. oh man, he really doesn't like this.
note to self: buy more pairs after getting those back from mei.]
I'm afraid you don't quite realize just how much of a necessity those glasses are to me.
video;
[ yes, half-blind scientists are quite hilarious to her. but she's not that dastardly, so she'll give him an ultimatum. ]
But I'll give 'em back if we can make a deal.
video;
[...oh, he knows where this is going. miss mei, you are a little devil.]
...What are your terms?
video;
No wing experiments on me.
video;
[granted, he really wanted to take a look at her wings, but if not doing so will prevent a horrid migraine from arising, then... and there are a lot of other people who would likely be willing to let him do a thorough examination on them, now that he thought about it.
just looking shouldn't be a problem, though, should it...?]
How about just a visual examination? I won't even touch them.
video;
[ except... there isn't much else that she wants from him. she'd love to blackmail him more, but she just can't think of anything.
that gets an angry pout, though. ] No experiments! That means nothing!
video;
[sigh... FIIIIIINE.]
Fine. I won't go anywhere near your wings in exchange for my glasses. In addition, I won't conduct any experiments that could be considered harmful to humanity, and only if the living subject is one-hundred-percent willing. [it hurt to add on that second bit, but he has to appease mei somehow... his head is starting to kill him.] Deal?
video;
hopefully he has some kind of honest bone in his body to adhere to the deal, but his word is enough for her. big smiles now - step three, complete! ] You've got a deal! I'll send Altaria to bring 'em.
[ but not before she attempts to do that weird finger-snapping pose he always does. SHE HAS THE GLASSES ON, THIS WAS BASICALLY MANDATORY. ]
video;
[he'll just be chilling on the edge of the fountain with the balls of his palms digging into his eyes while beheeyem makes merry with the fountain water. it was a bit juvenile for him to have gotten into this banter, now that he thought about it: the deal was riddled with loopholes and he could always buy himself another pair of glasses — several pairs, actually — with the same prescription, but yeesh...
mei may be a strong trainer, but goodness, can she be a handful.]
video; 1/2
the loopholes... well, she hasn't quite realized that there are any yet. as far as she's concerned, everything went without a hitch. better hold up her part of the bargain! ]
action;
chirp chirp, my trainer told me to give these to you! ]
action;
whew... everything is right in the world again!
he couldn't help the sigh that escaped, nor could beheeyem help the excited clapping he spontaneously decided to do. after a moment of relaxing (plus a mental decision that he depserately needs some aspirin), he turns to altaria with an exasperated smile.]
That Mei... She's certainly quite a character, hm?
action;
she's busy cleaning her cloud-feathers to prepare them for the flight back when he speaks up, prompting her to chirp affirmatively and nod. she loves her Trainer, but Mei could be pretty crazy sometimes. ]
